DBHawk Extends Zero Trust Database Access to AI Agents with Hawk AI MCP Server

Datasparc extends its DBHawk Zero Trust platform with Hawk AI, a sovereign natural-language interface to databases, and the Hawk AI MCP Server, giving AI agents governed, audited access to enterprise data — all running inside the customer's own infrastructure.
SAN DIEGO, Sept. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- San Diego–based Datasparc has added two artificial-intelligence capabilities to DBHawk, its Zero Trust database security and access platform: Hawk AI, a sovereign natural-language interface to databases, and the Hawk AI MCP Server, which gives AI agents governed access to enterprise data. Both run inside the customer's own infrastructure and apply DBHawk's existing access controls to AI.
Hawk AI lets users ask questions of their data in plain language; it writes the SQL, executes it, and returns charts and tables — expanding the text-to-SQL feature Datasparc introduced in 2024. Unlike AI tools that send schema and data to a shared, third-party service, Hawk AI runs in the customer's environment and supports bring-your-own-model, using a local model via Ollama or Azure OpenAI in the customer's own tenant. Prompts, schema, and results never leave the environment.
Because it executes through DBHawk, every AI-generated query obeys the same object- and column-level access control and dynamic data masking that apply to human users, and every prompt, query, and result is logged for audit — so the AI can only ever see the data the requesting user is permitted to see.
"Every company wants the productivity of AI on their data, but not at the cost of a breach or a failed audit. With Hawk AI and the MCP Server, the AI is just another governed user of DBHawk — it only sees what it's allowed to, and everything it does is masked and logged."
— Manish Shah, CEO, Datasparc
The Hawk AI MCP Server implements the Model Context Protocol so any MCP-compatible agent or assistant can query databases through DBHawk's governed tools instead of a raw connection. Each agent uses a scoped, role-based token; every request passes through access control, masking, and read-only limits; and each action is audited per agent — keeping Zero Trust database access intact even for automation.
DBHawk provides passwordless, least-privilege access across more than 20 databases — including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, MongoDB, IBM Db2, and SAP HANA — with SSO, secrets-vault integration, and audit streaming to Datadog and Splunk. DBHawk holds SOC 2 Type II compliance and supports GDPR, HIPAA, SOX, and PCI-DSS programs.
Used by more than 100 companies and named a CIOReview Top 20 enterprise security solutions provider, DBHawk offers Hawk AI and the Hawk AI MCP Server now as capabilities of the platform, available as SaaS or for on-premises and virtual-private-cloud deployment.
