About the Author
Philip Berry earned undergraduate degrees from Manhattan Community College and Queens College, as well as graduate degrees from Columbia University and Xavier University of Cincinnati, where he earned a Masters in Social Work and a MBA, respectively. These graduate degrees enabled him to increase focusing on organizational effectiveness and psychosocial behavior while further strengthening his ability to connect business strategy and leadership development.
Throughout his career, he worked for Fortune 500 companies across the United States, Latin America, Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe, Russia, the Middle East, and Western Europe in human resources, organizational development, cross-cultural effectiveness, and diversity. He now leads Philip Berry Associates, LLC, where he focuses on executive coaching, leadership development, innovation, and organizational effectiveness.
Berry is the President of Philip Berry Associates, LLC, which provides a broad range of human capital improvement programs, including executive coaching, personal branding, global talent development, global diversity, targeted leadership, employee engagement, and innovation training. Before this role, he served as Vice President, Global Workplace Initiatives, and Corporate Officer for Colgate-Palmolive, where he led diversity and inclusion strategies globally.
He also held senior Human Resources positions serving more than 60 countries across Central Europe, Russia, Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, and Europe. and lived abroad. He also was the Chief Human Resources Officer for the Clinton Foundation after leaving Colgate Palmolive where he strengthened his capability to improve performance in not-for-profit organizations.
Before joining Colgate-Palmolive, Berry built broad Human Resources expertise at Procter & Gamble. He also worked at the Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority as Vice President, Human Resources. He held positions at Digital Equipment Corporation and IBM. A frequently sought-after motivational speaker, he also was Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the City University of New York for 10 years and is presently Vice Chair of the Louis Armstrong House Museum.
